The studio
From her studio in the tiny stone village of Fring, Ann-Marie Ryan produces painting and prints that capture the landscapes she observes:
"My studio is set in a tiny carstone village near the coast in north Norfolk, where I have lived and worked for many years. I love to walk or cycle in the lanes nearby. For me, this creates the necessary level of intimacy with the landscape. I can feel the sun on my face or the cold edge to the wind. In the winter the pink-footed geese fill the sky and the curlews call. The summer brings fields of lavender and corn all around the studio, and I can watch my sunflowers nod; alexanders border the paths, and samphire and sea lavender colonise the marshes that are some of my favourite places. All these sights and sounds and sensations find their way into my paintings..."All these sights and sounds find their way into my paintings...
